Colosseum | Traian Column | Rome

Colosseum in Rome | video

The Colosseum , originally the Flavian Amphitheater is an elliptical amphitheater in the center of the city of Rome, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering.
Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum, its construction started under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications being made during Domitian’s reign. The name “Amphitheatrum Flavium” derives from both Vespasian’s and Titus’ family name.
Originally capable of seating around 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. It remained in use for nearly 500 years with the last recorded games being held there as late as the 6th century , well after the traditional date of the fall of Rome in 476. As well as the traditional gladiatorial games, many other public spectacles were held there, such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. Brahms | Intermezzo | Chopin | Valse

Johann Brahms : Klavierstucke Intermezzo

Today I was studying this piece, and I recorded one of my first tries. That triplet/quavers section is particularly tricky! Not precisely because of the rhythm, but rather because of the different voices all coming to play. The middle section is one of the most fugued fugal forms I’ve seen in a piece that is not a fugue (if that makes sense at all).

Frederick Chopin : Valse Op. 70

A little recording of me studying the piece. Do not mind the small mistakes. The color of the sheets is yellow because I ran out of white paper and had to print in craft paper! Do not mind that either.
