Colosseum in Rome | video

The Colosseum , originally the Flavian Amphitheater is an elliptical amphitheater in the center of the city of Rome, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering.
Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum, its construction started under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications being made during Domitian’s reign. The name “Amphitheatrum Flavium” derives from both Vespasian’s and Titus’ family name.
Originally capable of seating around 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. It remained in use for nearly 500 years with the last recorded games being held there as late as the 6th century , well after the traditional date of the fall of Rome in 476. As well as the traditional gladiatorial games, many other public spectacles were held there, such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. Johann Brahms : Klavierstucke Intermezzo

Today I was studying this piece, and I recorded one of my first tries. That triplet/quavers section is particularly tricky! Not precisely because of the rhythm, but rather because of the different voices all coming to play. The middle section is one of the most fugued fugal forms I’ve seen in a piece that is not a fugue (if that makes sense at all).

Musilosophy (me) plays this jazz piano solo piece in a live concert. This is a video about a song I wrote two years ago titled “Io chi sono”. The piece was born as a vocal song but I noted It was too much weird for that, so I have never published it.
However I like the melody and the sound based on the “Neapolitan sixth” harmonic concept.

Valzer di Chopin al pianoforte : video

Paolo Castellani esegue il Valzer di Chopin in Si minore.
Si tratta di uno dei più bei Valzer di Chopin, con una stupenda melodia. Non è tecnicamente molto difficile, ma ha delle linee melodiche emozionanti.

Analisi Valzer Chopin in si minore

Dal punto di vista formale è costutito da una prima parte in si minore, una parte centrale in si maggiore e di nuovo dalla ripresa del tema in si minore.
La prima parte del Valzer si divide, a sua volta in due diverse parti, la seconda che funge da sviluppo della prima.
Gli accordi principali usati sono quello di settima di dominate ( Fa dieseis settima) e di tonica, vale a dire Si minore.
Ma la bellezza armonica del brano risiede tutta nella stupenda geometria delle linee melodiche che conducono dolcemente le orecchie di chi ascolta a salire e scendere lungo le armonie degli accordi della mano sinistra.
